Instructions for abstract submission

1) Please register for the event via the website. Fees do not have to be paid at the time of registration; payments can be made after acceptance of your abstract has been confirmed.
• All abstracts must be submitted through the official Congress website.
2) Log in to the restricted area with the username and password that you have selected during registration.
3) Click on “My Abstracts” on the left side of the page.
4) Follow the instructions on the screen to access the abstract submission form. Fill in all fields of the online form.
5) Choose the type of presentation – Oral or Poster.
6) After submitting your abstracts, click on "Log out".
7) After submitting the abstract, the person in charge (submitter) will receive an email confirming the information provided. Please check if all information is correct. If there is any mistake, log in to the restricted area again and make the necessary changes. Changes can be made until submission deadline.
* The author must complete all fields in the online form. All communications related to the scientific work will sent only to this author through the registered e-mail and he should be in charge of passing on to the co-authors;
8) If you do not receive the automatic confirmation email of the submission on the same day, the abstract has not been sent correctly. In this case, please send an email to reporting your problem.
9) To access the event website again, just use your username and password. In case you do not remember your login data, use the “forgot your password?” option at the top of the page.

Important Informationn

• The ABSTRACTS must be submitted in English only; papers submitted in other languages won’t be considered;
• The deadline for abstract submission is: Monday, April 03, 2017
• In order to receive the certificate of your abstract after the event, one of the listed authors must be registered and have attended the event.
• There is no limit of papers accepted per author.
• Up to 15 authors can be included per summary. Please list the authors in the desired order;
• After receiving confirmation of acceptance, the submitting person of the abstract needs to confirm payment of registration fees until 22/05/2017. The presentation must be made by the one indicated when submitting the paper. If it’s not possible, another author should make the presentation, as long as he attends the congress and has paid the registration fee.
• All abstracts must be submitted through the official Congress website.
• Only one certificate will be issued per presented abstract. Certificates are issued following the order in which authors were registered.
• Please note: all materials produced on basis of the abstracts (such as publications in scientific journals) will be faithful reproduction of the information submitted by the author. Therefore, it is not possible to change title, summary or authors after submission deadline. We emphasize that all provided information is of entire responsibility of the submitting author.
• The main author can choose the modality of abstract presentation. However, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to change this choice.
• Registration fees can be found at the “Registration” menu of the congress website and are independent of the approval date of the abstract. In order to guarantee any discount, payment of the fees needs to be made within the deadlines.
• The final decision of the Scientific Committee on the presentation modality is considered supreme and irrevocable, and shall not be questioned. Papers that have not been accepted for oral presentation may be reallocated to poster presentation and the author will be informed about this decision accordingly.

 

 

Instructions for abstract preparation

• The abstract should not have more than 2500 characters including spaces;
• The abstract should be structured in an objective and concise way, providing essential information under each title. Suggested titles: introduction, objectives, methods, results and conclusion;
• Poster Case reports should be structured in: Case Presentation, Discussion and Final Comments. Considering that case reports make an important contribution to the exchange  experience between professionals, Scientific Committee recommends that only send reports of common cases with atypical evolution or rare cases of major relevance.
• Bibliographic references should not be included.
• The institution or institutions where the research was done, as well as the names of the authors, should NOT be mentioned in the body of the text.
• The abstract contents should be associated with the topic selected (see list above);
• Graphs and tables will not be accepted;            
• All the instructions above also apply to poster submissions;
• Results using statements such as “results will be presented” or “data will be analyzed” will not be accepted.
• Trade names are not allowed, only generic drug names, written in lowercase letters.

 

 

 

Instructions for Approved Abstracts

ORAL PRESENTATION:
Presentation time is 10 minutes. After the presentation, there will be 5 minutes for discussion and possible questions from jury and guests. If none of the authors attends the event, the presentation will be canceled and the certificate will not be issued.
The presentation must be prepared in Power Point (Windows) in English and needs to be handed in at the Media Desk at least 1 hour before start of the session in order to upload the document to the media system.
Information about day and time of the presentation will be available in the restricted area of the submitting author and previously stipulated in the scientific program of the congress.

 

POSTER ABSTRACTS:

Instructions for banner confection:

  1. Measurements: 90cm (width) x 120 cm (height);

  1. The posters must be fixed in the place determined by the organizing committee, in day and hour predetermined.
  2. Bring lanyard or tape to fix the poster, we do not provide any equipment at the poster area;
  3. The panel number of the poster is available in the restricted area of the submitting author in the "Display" field. The panel number indicates the place where to fix the poster during the event.
  4. The Scientific Committee will designate the Judging Commission that will visit the abstracts and the presence of one of the authors at the specified time for the presentation is necessary.
  5. Posters must be prepared in English.

 

Presentation time – 10 minutes.
At least one of the authors must be next to your poster to presentation. In the absence of the presenter, one of the registered authors can present.
Important:
The posters not removed within the determined time by the organization will be thrown away.

 

 

Young Prize Investigator Merck


Prize Young Investigator Merck will be awarded to two young members of the Society (under 40 years of age by the date of the event) who present adequate abstract during the Congress. The categories under which the prizes will be given are:

 

(1) clinical research - 2.000USD

(2) basic research - 2.000USD.

 

Please Note:

  • Young investigator should be the first author of the abstract and should present the abstract during the LATS 2017 Congress.
  • The paper presented must have been completely done in a Latin American country.
  • The presenter willing to give an oral communication.
  • Young LATS Investigator Award cannot be applied by someone that previously earned it.
 

 

Publication

All approved abstracts will be published at Archives of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

 

 

Certificates

After the end of Congress, the certificates of approved abstracts will be available to the author responsible for submitting on the site. To print or download, you must access the "Certificates" area, located on the congress homepage, enter the registered e-mail and fill in the "Satisfaction Survey".
Important: the certificates will not be sent directly to email.
• Only one certificate will be issued per abstract. They will be printed following the registered order of authors.
• At least one of the authors must be registered and attend the congress to receive the certificate later.
